Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa Flow synchronizes the movements of the breath with a dynamic sequence of connected yoga postures, which are joined together in a smooth, flowing way, almost like a dance. The breath is an important component of this class, and the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. Classes warm up with gentle movements, sun salutations, standing postures, balancing and a cool down before savasana. Amy’s classes incorporate a creative flow threaded with breath, mudras, meditation, mantra and a passion for music. She is known for her clear, resonant voice and precise cuing.

Amy Kalyn Sims is an ERYT-500, Advanced Reiki Practitioner and Photographer living in Asheville, NC. She graduated from the Savannah College of Art & Design and spent a decade in New York City working as a Professional Photographer.

She went on to complete the Laughing Lotus 300-hour Advanced Teacher Training, studying with Dana Flynn, Raganauth Cappo, Elena Brower and a host of other amazing teachers.

In 2011, Amy’s family moved from NYC to Asheville and she began teaching at the Asheville Yoga Center. In 2017, she completed the AYC 300-hour Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training, where she learned the therapeutic essentials of yoga to work with stress, injuries and illness.
