Gardener of the Mind Immersion: Developing a Skillful Meditation

This team-led immersion is available for anyone looking to evolve as a yoga teacher and practitioner. This immersion is one of the modules in our 300-hour 'Kindling the Flame' yoga teacher training program and is also open to anyone who wishes to participate.

Facilitated and Curated by Michael Johnson with Guest Teachers: Dr. Vasant Lad, Shala Worsley, Joe Taft, Gota Cebrero, Seán Johnson, Mitesh Raichada, Sneha Raichada, Sierra Hollister, Nishita Shah, Brooke Sullivan, Richard Fabio, Maeve Hendrix, Suzanne Martin, and Vishnu Dass.

The last three limbs of Yoga combined are known as Saṃyama, often translated as 'Self-control' or 'Beginner's Mind.' When combined with the first five limbs, they help make the practice of Yoga accessible to people of all kinds. In this team-led immersion, you’ll learn a variety of approaches to meditation from a team of inspirational teachers, sharing their knowledge and expertise. You’ll be given the opportunity to develop a daily meditation practice that can eventually become self-guided to meet your unique needs.

Topics Included:
- Meditation as a natural, humble, instinctive human skill to honor and trust
- The role of meditation within the context of Yoga Philosophy
- How to cultivate Śamatha (automatically stable, clear and calm attention)
- Vipaśyanā (Insight) to become a master gardener of the mind
- Maitrī (Kindness) to optimally navigate space, time, and other people
- Vicāra (Inquiry) a method for explicating any object one chooses
- Access to a library of pre-recorded lectures on the origins, obstacles and antidotes for each technique
- Optional daily live-stream guided meditations (recordings will be sent out the next day)
- Completion of all the materials comes with a 100-hour Meditation Certificate
