Training Description:

In this class we will use specific props to enhance the health of knees, ankles, and feet. Using mobility sticks, resistance bands, balls, and traditional yoga props, we can perform knee, ankle, and foot-specific exercises to build strength and mobility in knee, ankle, and foot muscles and joints.

Mobility and flexibility are often times used interchangeably. But they are not the same thing.

Flexibility is the muscle’s ability to lengthen- often in a static way. Mobility is the joint’s ability to move through its full range of motion.

Studies have shown that teaching the joint to safely move to its end range and then strengthening the muscles and connective tissues (ligaments, etc.) may help prevent tightness and subsequent injuries.

This class will include pranayama, mudra, asana, and relaxation

Learning Objectives:

*use of props to enhance health of knee, ankle, and foot

*learn the difference between mobility and flexibility

*learn how to move your joints safely to end-of-range and strengthen in that position

*incorporate breathing, mudra, asana, and relaxation in the class
